This 18,000 square foot facility highlights the importance of global perspective in higher education and celebrates Belhaven University's relationship with South Korea. The two-story international center serves as a home away from home for international students and a hub of activity for all students. The ground level serves the student body daily through the use of classrooms and administrative offices, while the upper level has a large banquet area complete with a deisplay kitchen facility. The display kitchen is unique, in that, it is specifically designed to allow students to prepare special meals from their home countries. The banquest area utilizes the most up-to-date electronic projection equipment to enhance the quality of group presentations accommodating over 300 guests.
Highlighted in one of the pictures is the grand entry foyer honoring Dr. Billy Kim, who is a pioneer in Christian broadcasting in South Korea and past president of the Baptist World Alliance.
Always conscious of the need to blend new facilities into the campus fabric work, the Belhaven leadership chose a traditional collegiate brick for the exterior of this steel and metal structure. This project was a collaboration between the owner, Belhaven University, architect Dale Partners, and Interior Designer, Erik Kegler. Probity Contracting Group served as the General Contractor as well as the Program Manager. This twelve month project was completed in July of 2016.
